Default Passenger side CV AXLES KEEP BREAKING!!

Last night, the passenger side CV axle failed. At 5mph there was a loud clunk and the car stopped moving. Luckily, it was at the beginning of my driveway.

Went to O'Reillys and got both CV axles to replace both. If we were going to do one, may as well do both.

We've replaced several CV axles on different vehicles before. Never had any issues, so we weren't worried about this one.

Replaced both and went to do a test drive. Got less than 1/2 mile from the house and it failed again. Loud clunk. Car stopped moving. Looked under the car to see the passenger side CV axle had failed.

Never had a brand new CV axle fail before, but we've never owned a Honda before either. Is this due to a common issue?

Besides the clunk, do you see any issues by visually inspecting it? Any visually wrong with the first one that went bad? New, remanufactured? axle nut tight?

Not a common issue, there is definitely something wrong.

If your transmission mounts are incredibly bad, this can facilitate premature wear and failure of CV shafts due to the transmission literally moving. I would inspect these and replace if they appear worn, fractured, or aged.

What failed? the inner or outer CV joint? how did it fail? The clunk you describe means inner CV? If so either the axle wasn't inserted all the way OR maybe you have a failed differential bearing... Was there a whining noise before all this happened?

In addition to what the other posters suggest did you check the condition of the wheel bearing, upper A-arm, ball joints?
