k20 fit on a 2000 civic

type r engine k20a fit in a 2000 civic lx? im looking to purchase a vehicle but i want a type R conversion

Yes, you can put a "K" series engine into a '96-00 Civic. It is an expensive swap when compared to say a "B" series... but it is worth it. Great power and factory reliability.

The key with a K-series swap is finding a great price deal on a whole swap. I’ve seen where people would buy a totaled car, dirt cheap, for under $1,000 (gotta be careful to note how the car was wrecked). That gives everything major that you need, except mounts and exhaust; but if you can do exhaust work and can fab your own mounts, that’ll save several hundred.

I guess as long as you can start it up you should be fine but you won't be able to see how the transmission shifts
