Default 92 honda civic aftermarket or oem engine mount?

I'm looking to swap out the rear engine mount but not sure what's best price wise. I have DEA on front right lower and left. Car jerks when I get on gas so figured its the old cracked mounts. Front right and left were torn to shreds so swapped to DEA on thosr. Oem is 94$ while DEA is 14$ for the rear mount. Anyone had good luck with aftermarket mounts? It's my daily driver, had the engine "rebuilt".

I replaced all the engine mounts for my B16a2 engine with a set of who knows what brand I bought off eBay for probably less than $150. I've had no problems with them.

Did you also inspect the rear, upper left, and transmission mounts? Are the bolts torqued to spec?

they're old but still in one peice. My buddy likes doing repairs so I let him.
but he has a bad habit of not following torque specs. He claims tightening down to "Snug is enough" i disagree though lol. Could that be the cause of the jerking when getting on the gas?

I'm not hearing solid evidence for a bad mount. Start with torquing the bolts to spec.

Hey @muellersfan can you point me in the right direction of where to find the torque specs for the engine and transmission side mounts (not the torque mounts). I've searched the FSM pretty thoroughly and have been unable to find the mount main bolt torque specs or a couple of the other mount torque specs. Torque mount specs seems to be complete but the primary side engine/transmission mount specs seem to be missing as far as I can tell. Help would be appreciated as at this time I do the 1/4 turn method for those bolts and nuts I am missing spec for.

No problem, sir.

Pages 5-22 and -23 in Engine Removal section of 92-95 Civic factory manual.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, that's the pages I was looking at that I had hoped you had information for. They seem to only provide the specs for the bolts into the brackets themselves and not the main bolts. I've circled in red the ones I am currently using the 1/4 turn method as the spec isn't found.

Of note, I have also looked pretty thoroughly at the transmission removal installation section, it's where many of the torque specs are for the transmission brackets are found that is not displayed on 5-22 and 5-23.

Seems like the main mount bolts are neglected in the manual.

I'm still looking for 5th Gen torque specs.

I think they will be similar to 6th Gen, so in the meantime, have a look at these 6th Gen diagrams:

Just an opinion. I have tried using the non-OEM motor mounts before. They work, but they always seem too stiff, so the car shakes too much for me at idle. Swapping to the OEM Honda mounts makes the idle as smooth as glass. So, they do work, and you might not mind the slight virbation, for some reasons it just annoyed the crap out of me. But I understand the pain, my non-OEM mounts were like $15 bucks a piece, while the OEM was like $75-80 a piece. Bleh.
