95 Civic CX hatch tachometer problems
Hey, I have a 95 cx hatch, and recently i swapped the cluster from an ex/si in order to get a tach. it treated me well all summer but now as its getting cold (no idea if that does anything), the tach is having issues. I have read about the dancing and bouncing tachs but nothing like mine. Sometimes it will work fine and other times it is super inaccurate. Like ridiculously bad. when the tach is having issues, the tach stays at 0 rpm untill the car is at about 3k rpm (a guess by sound) the tach starts to move and very very quickly will go to 6k rpm. its like the "range" of the tach is limited to 3-4k rpm but shows values from 0-6k rpm and i have not idea what it might be... thank you for all the help in advance!
No check engine light codes. Okay, where would I find the igniter unit to check? I assume the unit is inside of my distributor, but i am not sure what it might looks like. I replaced my distributor this summer because my car was running rough, and the dizzy was not brand new but had a new cap and rotor.
Thank you for your help!
