Default Vtec switch? How to bypass?

I am looking into a EK swap with a b20z swap. Owner sent me a video of him doing a pull, and he flipped a switch to engage vtec. Seemed bazaar to me, just personally haven’t heard of such thing.
If I do finalize the purchase of said car, I’d like to get rid of that as soon as possible. Anyway to bypass that? Just have vtec engage naturally?
If that even makes sense.

Aren't you seriously concerned about what else you will find post purchase?

I will be thoroughly inspecting the car prior to purchase. Seems pretty okay, from pictures at least. But, pictures are most definitely decisiving.
Just want to know if there’s a fix/bypass to that vtec engagement switch.

i assume there is a vtec head on the swap and that the guy is not just trolling you by saying there is "vtec on a switch". yes there is a way to fix it, and that would be to properly wire the vtec pressure switch to the ecu. you can either get a wire harness that is already wired for vtec from the factory. or wire it yourself. all the info can be found here .:FFS TechNet:.

Learn early not to ignore bright red flags. He's selling his experimental project car, including all of his mistakes along the way. Don't buy Dr. Frankenstein's project car. You'll thank me later.

b20z, vtect switch. This is what I read in the OP



I've made it sound like vtec kicked in before with a high compression b20.......

all of the above, plus.... if the ECU is not tuned to run in VTEC, and you force the head to engage the solenoid... what timing and fuel maps are going to be used and just how wrong will they be? (you can't see that damage from the outside)
It can be done, if the ECU can read the switch, any decent tuner can make the input toggle the maps.... but that level of tuner would never let someone have VTEC on a switch in the first place.
