Default Loose teeth on distributor (is this normal?)

One of the teeth broke off on my BRAND NEW ebay distributor during install, so I am replacing that piece with one from my other distributor. Both pieces look to be the exact same size, I used the single washer off of the new distributor as a spacer, and it seems to have excessive play. I don't know if it should be like this, or if I should add more washers to stop it.

Here is a video I uploaded of the distributor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyBq...ature=youtu.be

Disassemble the distributor. My guess is that assembly was done incorrectly. Post pics if you need help with the proper assembly.

On a separate note, be aware that it is possible to install the rotor/bearing assembly into the distributor 180-degrees out of phase. You'll hate life if you make that mistake.

Not a bad idea, but you may be able to fix the eBay one with spare parts to have a working back up.

This. I got burned twice in a row, and only go with the Duralast Gold ones now.

Distributors are just so damn expensive. All the auto part store dizzys are $190+ where I am. Even though they're expensive, it seems like a better deal than Ebay, I won't be rolling the dice with that garbage again.

Yes, but they come with a lifetime warranty. If you want expensive, go looking for an OEM one...somewhere around $400+, if you can even find them anymore.

You would likely be able to fix the eBay distributor by careful disassembly and reassembly. Members could surely assist you if you post disassembly pictures. This would get your car running and buy you time to shop around for the best distributor at the lowest price.
