I picked up another engine and was getting ready to set it in and noticed a solenoid on the back of the engine that I guess is called a vtec solenoid???... the old engine does not have one.....so my question is if I put the new engine in without that solenoid plugged in will it hurt anything cause my car dosent have the plugs to plug it in.... the 2 engines look identical except that

You basically will have the capability to run it, but not have vtec. Car will still run, though you can pick up a few ponies now with a vtec controller or the correct vec ECU/wiring harness. tuning might be a smidge different, but it should still work.
