What else throws an EGR code after the EGR has been replaced

I checked my codes by jumping the plug and it gave me the bad EGR code. I replaced the egr and drove it for about 5 miles and the check engine light came back on- any ideas?

Yes. It's extremely common to be the EGR ports stopped up, not the valve. You don't state what year Accord it is, but this should give you an idea of what you need to do.
