So, when my key leaves the ignition it keeps beeping and I can't power lock my doors. If i jiggle it sometimes it stops, sometimes not. Leaving it beeping and locking it manually doesn't run the battery down, I have tried using a screwdriver to start the car, instead of the key, when it is like this, it won't start this way, won;t turn. I'm the only one with a key to the car...

so, would it be possible to steal the car if I leave it beeping, lock it, and then someone gets inside the car somehow?
would it be easier to steal this way?
seems it won;t turn at least. I don;t want to pay $200-800 for a new igntion switch.
