AM Signal booster
I was told by a car stereo installed that the stock radio is paired with the antenna imbedded in the rear window, and that poor reception may be due to an AM signal booster that has gone bad...is this a part that can be replaced?
Yes, but at that point you might as well just get a new antenna installed after the fact. there are small sticky antennas that can mount on most windows and trim pieces that will do the job.
Depends on the car, but older hondas are usually pretty easy. My 02 coupe only require removal of 2 screws, and my Si didn't require removal of any. Just make sore you get an antenna or booster with the correct plugs.
an 06... what? Civic, crv, element, odyssey, accord... Call a local car audio installation shop and they'll be able to line it all up, or check metra.com for the antenna type
