Default Diff. and counter shaft noise after rebuild

B16 transmission rebuild: Took this transmission apart to replace certain gears, sliders and gear hubs. After I re installed it and spun the diff and counter shaft by hand, I’m getting this loud rubbing/vibration noise. Pretty sure that’s not normal, I can spin my gsr trans by hand and it does not make that noise, it’s a lot quieter. I feel like the countershaft FD teeth and ring gear aren’t mating up but I counted the teeth 66, so I’m sure it’s not an LS ring gear. That was my last guess as a culprit and there is no shim in the clutch housing side of the case to be causing a clearance issue. If I’m not making my self clear I apologize, anyone have any helpful tips or advice? Thanks.

Need pictures. That sound in the clip sounds like gears rubbing.

What exactly did you replace? Used or new?

Clearance between 1st gear and the diff. ring gear.

All new. 1-2nd gear selector hub, all synchro springs, 3-4th synchro, 3-4th gear hub, 3-4 gear selector hub and 5th gear counter and main shaft and the carrier bearing on the diff. (The one you can see in the video.)

If you need more pictures to help out, just let me know what picuters I need to post. Thanks for any help!

Post a picture of 5th gear (both main and counter) from the side and a pic of the diff/ring gear in the clutch housing.

With the case on and snap ring seated, the countershaft will sit up higher so 1st isn't resting on the ring gear.

Another thing I would like to add is that the 99-00 EM1 S4C transmissions had a 64 tooth count as well as two line on the teeth of the ring gear and 94-01 LS Integra has 64 tooth and 2 lines across teeth but Ive read that 99-00 ring gears only work in Em1's transmissions.

B16 trans now for sale lol.
After changing out the ring gear for the correct 66 tooth gear, the loud vibrating noise has gone away. I bought this transmission online via forum pages on facebook. Didnt pay much so you get what you pay for and goes to prove you cannot put a LS ring gear in your B16 transmission to get a longer FD. Ive read that question so many times it leads me to beleive thats what this kid did to his trans and then said, "screw it, ill just sell it."
