Default power steering issues wheel has resistance

92 honda civic dx sedan, belts tight, it has enough fluid, no sounds from pump. alignment is fine, doesnt pull at all. Almost feels as there is no power steering working at all. Not sure what to look at for diagnosis. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

When stopped, will it work at all if you give it some gas and raise the rpm? I had a problem with my G37 where the ps would only work when I was on the gas pedal and it was low efficiency of the pump.. never had the issue on any of my Hondas though. I’d start with the pump. They’re cheap and really easy to replace.

Doesn't change with rpm higher. has same resistance at all time. any recommendation on a pump. rebuilt ones ok?i was thinking the pump might be done for but figured I should get a second opinion.

A used or refurbished one would do just fine. You’re looking at 35-60ish bucks either way.
