I have a toy car that I like to autoX occasionally. The other day I ended up messing up the drivers side axle. I was recently able to get it out and I'm trying to figure out what type I need to replace it. I went to Oreileys and the only one they were able to find had a thinned mid shaft and didn't have a weight that was present on mine. I was even able to find some Hasport axles on craigslist specifically for a Type R in an EF, but the inner end was male instead of female.
The car in question is a 91 civic dx hatchback, Motor is a B18c from a '96 spec Integra Type R, and the brakes have been replaced with those from a DA Integra.

how did the axle you have get messed up?

the axles you found on craigslist will work if you use a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft and change the axle seal on that side otherwise you can use a 94-01 integra axle

 

Thanks for the response, there was a small tear in the outer boot of my drivers side CV Axle. I didn't realize it and spent the day on the track. By my last run, there was a loud clunking noise coming from underneath the hood when in motion. I barely got the car home, and when I took off the drivers side wheel, there was axle grease all over the suspension parts, brake caliper & completely coated the inside of the front driver side wheel. I'm not a mechanical expert by any means, but the axle was my only guess.

I was at the O'reilly's yesterday and asked for a CV Axles to a 96 Integra GSR (I guess all DC integra's use the same axle). The ones they brought out had the same female end I need and seemed to be the same length, but the center shaft was much thinner and it didn't have that weighted ring. I didn't take them because I wasn't 100% sure it would work with my car. Since I really only use the car for autoX, I didnt want to get anything that could potentially break (even though i only get about 200 whp).

that axle will work and should be fine for what you are doing
Napa sometimes has better quality axles. you could check there but most parts stores are going to have the same as what oreillys has

I'll have to post the other axles up for sale. Hopefully I can find someone who needs them.
