Which valve spec do I use?
Okay so I have a 1996 Honda Civic Ex, I have in it a D15b JDM block with a y8 head. My car I believe is out of timing by a few tooth but it starts and idles good and then when you hit the gas a little bit it’s like delayed... anyways once I get the timing right I have the spec on my hood about the valve lash setting, should I use that setting on my car or the valve lash setting for the d16y8 since I have the y8 head. Also if y’all know any anyways to like take the timing belt off and retime or reset everything back at its TDC place or sum like that and then put the belt on that would help or any good way
Use either valve lash spec, it doesnt matter.
For the cam timing, just line up the crank pulley marker then see where the cam is. If needed rotate the cam where you need to be without removing the belt.
For cam timing, you will have to jump the connector. Retarded ignition timing is enough to cause a bad delay in acceleration.
