Default 95 Accord with auto trans problems

I have a 95 Accord Coupe lx auto with 113,000 miles on it . It has only one mod to it which is a AEM cold air intake. I'm getting very poor mileage out of it. I commute 60 miles round trip each day. I've had a tuneup and a trans service and the mileage went backup to the posted numbers for the car. Now acouple of months later the Cord is gettting again 250 to 300 miles out of a tank of gas. I usually use the cruise control on the highway set at 65 miles. I try to keep an eye on the Tach and sometimes it reads 2500 at 65 mph and other times its at 4000 at 65 mph. Also the trans shifts hard on take off and through the gears. And it shifts hard most of the time. I went to my local Honda Dealer and they told me it was the CAI that is on the car. Not satisfied I went to a Transmission specialist and he said either the trans ECU, overdrive, or the the whole Trans needs to be replaced.
Has anyone heard or has had the same prolbem as this? HELP!!!

The CAI story is BS. Have you checked your oil levels in the tranny lately? According to Honda, you should have it changed every 30k miles or so. But if you're not too hard on the tranny, and with good oil, you could double the mileage before changing the oil.
But if you really give your tranny a good beating, I've seen mine overheat so much it was slipping all the way, and I had to pull over and let it cool down, because I just couldn't get the power to the wheels. I then noticed that a whole lot of oil had spewed out of the tranny, and I was half down on the oil volume after it stopped "boiling" and actually started giving grip again.
If something similar happenned to you, it could be either because you beat the **** out of it, or your tranny oil cooler doesn't work right, making the oil overheat, and then bubbles appear (just like on overheating brake lines) and at that point you can't get any pressure good enough to get your tranny working well (at least that's the way I figure it, of course, I could be wrong... )

BTW, these trannies don't have overdrives, they are plain 4 speeds. They do however have a torque lock-up on 3rd and 4th gear, which will make your RPM vary by 250rpms
