I'm a former VW guy. Bought a Civic earlier this year because my old VW was pretty much dead at ~20yrs. RIP.

I will apologize ahead of time if this is a relatively common question or it's something that's commonly known. I am not sure what to even search for.

But my EX-L comes with the USB aux cable in the center console box. Is there a OEM or Aftermarket solution to prevent having to essentially close the center console lid *on* the USB cable? Man it has really chewed mine up; it's all mangled. Maybe a new lid with a hole in it for the cable? Do people drill a hole in the plastic? (I hope not... that will kill the resell value...)

Any advice on a solution, or point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

 

Have your cable come out from the side corner of the front of the console box, rather than near the latch in the front centre of the lid. It has a gap that a phone cable fits through without chewing up the insulation.
