Cause I have a lot of friends with socket ecu but just wanted to know which ecu would be better to get a chip for or would all work good with a chip for my motor

Really, what mods do you have that would make a stock p75 make the engine run bad?

If the P28 is chipped and socketed, why not just copy the tune from that chip to your P06?

Since you aren't using the stock programming inside the ECU, the differences are all about the components that you will use and not where the ECU came from. A P28 is a SOHC VTEC ECU... whereas, the P06 is a SOHC non-VTEC ECU. In your case, since you are trying to run a non-VTEC (B20B) engine with it, the VTEC circuit paths inside the P28 would be disabled in the tune and would not be used. In essence, you would be using the P06 parts of the P28. Now, if in the future you intend to swap to a DOHC VTEC head, then you may want to use the P28 ECU now with the ability to grow in the future. You can also "upgrade" your P06 to P28 specs by adding the internal components to operate VTEC. This can be done to a P74/75 ECU as well. The circuit paths are there... you merely have to add parts to make it work. So there is no "Best" ECU to answer your question... since your chip will have the programming to operate your engine and the stock programming is being ignored.

Thanxk for the information and it’s a b20 high compression and aem fuel rail and regular and have the psi at 45 and still run bad keep choking a little on low rpm but I bring it about 55 and 60 run better but then I smell gas and my muffler smoke and choke alitrle on high rpm now so I had a stock p28 and just order a brand new p28 socket and chip out from clmmotorsport so hope wirj the chip out ecu and having someone have the psi number rite shoukd be better I think I don’t get which psi it shoukd be say to 43.7 but when I do choke a lot under 45 so maybe ifs the ecu or cause I have a skunk 2 mani with 70mm tb maybe it’s that

i have an idea. Put your stock FPR and fuel rail back on. You don’t need aftermarket stuff.

put in an unmodified p75 ecu or have your p28 flashed to stock p75 maps.

Verify your tps is calibrated and that your map sensor is good.

Enjoy your now fine running vehicle.
