Replacing fuel lid opener cable - do I have to remove the seat and QP trim?
That's what the service manual suggests. But, the sales person at a local Honda dealership said they cut the old cable behind the fuel lid latch socket that plugs into the fuel door compartment, and that they then taped the one end of the new cable to where the old one was cut and then pulled it through by pulling out the old cable from the driver door area.
Looking at the service manual, I don't see how the cable could be pulled through like the person said, as it has to go through a couple of clips behind the quarter panel trim.
The seal around the old fuel lid latch is letting water leak in from the fuel cap area into the trunk of my car. The seal was only available as a part of the full cable.
