Default How to repair starter

Sup guys!

So I've came to the conclusion my starter is jammed up. Basically every time I want to start it I need to tap the starter. Starter was already replaced twice by advance auto and they refuse to replace it again through a warranty.

I was reading I need to replace the solenoid and i'll be good to go? How true is this? And does anyone have a good source to purchase a starter solenoids?

Thanks

Just replace the whole starter. I would refrain from buying such electronic parts like starters and alternators from Advance Auto.

Ummmm... how about Honda ??? Yes, it is more expensive than the junk that you bought from a generic parts store... but obviously, you get what you pay for.

junkyard for distributors, alternators, and starters before any parts store. op- a warranty is a warranty. if that location won't honor it, go to a different one or contact corporate. it's not your fault the mexican factory workers slapping these things together don't clean them at all/ assemble them wrong/ load them up with so much paint or powdercoat that they jam.

There are countless "part-out" listings on Craigslist or FB Marketplace. I'm sure someone is willing to sell you their good working starter so they can buy some crack or condoms...or both. LOL

also, might look into having an oem rebuilt. I was in a pinch so i got parts store special. was really disappointed the starter in the car was not oem. in the future i will go to the junkyard, pull an oem on, have it rebuilt professionally to have on hand with this "new" starter takes a **** and dies.
