I have honda civic prosmatec VTI Oriel 2006.. Since last month it started throwing fumes like unburnt petrol from tailpipe.. I went to the mechanic, he changed air filter then spark plugs, the MAP Sensor then injectors and finally the throttle body.. still its giving bad fuel economy plus petrol gas type smell from tailpipe..I believe some day i will be able to assemble another civic if i start storing replaced components..
Now the mechanics are saying it could possible an issue with timing belt/adjustment.. It needs to be checked now..
btw when the engine is start in idle position i can feel very slight vibration sometimes, and the spark plugs have slight dry carbon deposits..
however the car runs well..
What could possibly be the issue ?
anyone ?

 

You're asking in the wrong forum, this for 2001-2005 civics. The 06 is very different. You would get better answers from the appropriate section, since experts here may know very little about your generation of car
