Brakes are stiff while the car is turned off the when the car cranks the brakes will go very soft unless you rev the engine, they get soft enough that the petal will hit the floor sometimes during deceleration, but soon as the car shuts off the brakes get stiff again? Would the be the booster or master cylinder?

Thank for for that, this should really help me figure this issue out. I’m thinking the check valve might be bad since when I pump my brakes the engine idle will rise. I have the tranny out this week changing synchros and will do these test soon... thanks again for knowing where to finds that test, I really appreciate this type of help
