im running a b16a1 engine converted to OBD1 Running a P30 ecu stock.
My ecu is throwing code 6 which is eletric coolant tempeture ECT
Checked if vtec pressure and ect sensor plugs are not swapped around.
I have:
valve cover ground
Thermostat ground
Alternator ground
Tranny ground
Chassis Ground
Injectors have 12v at resistorbox and at injectors but no ground pulse.
I have put in a new distributor (TD-81-U)
Ive send off my stock 240cc injectors to get cleaned and flow checked today. Just so i have good working clean injectors.
When i pull the spark plugs they are dry.
And the new fuel pump primes and i have approx 45psi fuel pressure-at the rail.
Checked all fuel relay connections to ecu
Ive checked igp1 and igp2 as well as all the A and B ecu connector grounds and 12v . Im missing the B9 starter signal + at the ECU.
Can someone explain the function of the ECU Connector B9 starter signal input as I cant find a lot of info on it.
and has someone had this experience before ive searched the forums for days but cant find any clear info if the injector pulse adjustment made by the ECT sensor will disable injector pulses completely. lots of threads on it but no one checking in what the real reason was after getting the car fired up again.
I have a 1991 wagovan, with similar problems. Everything has been check - main relay, wiring harness, ecu, injectors... The car will turn over, but won't crank. Then after 20-25 attempts it fires up???
Should I replace the ignition switch and then trouble shoot again? I've bought so many parts for this thing it's not even funny. Any help would be amazing.
Distributor wiring is a big one. Make sure your crank signal and grounds are not backwards.
Where did you get your jumper harness?
Rywire. and repinned the Distributor connectors. any tips on how to check crank signal and grounds at distributor level? or just follow troubleshooting flow out of workshop manual?
but you are saying that no or bad wired or broken crank sensor will disable injector pulse totally?
If you know that you have a functioning distributor I would trace the wires back to the ecu. I know the pinout for the crx's are different depending on year, trim, and dpfi/mpfi.

thnx for the input check EDM EE8 pinouts again to check if jumper is correct.
Can't verify if the pic is correct. When I had the same issue I just traced from the pinout of the harness back to the ecu using the resistance/continuity setting.
Got a new ECT sensor, checked voltage at connector 5V and resistance of the sensor, both are okay. still no pulse. searching if I can find an additional distributor to check.
The Dark Grey lines are empty / no connected the light grey lines are some connections that I still need to do a connectivity check on from the ECU to the engine.
These will be added to the jumper via the external wiring connector.
