98 civic issue
some issues with my 98 civic dx d16y7. lets start at the beginning, previousowner said its been parked for about 8 months due to over heating. bought the car drove it home and noticed it would spit and sputter on take off. got home and let it idle for about an hour but it wouldnt even come close to over heating but i did find out timing was a tooth off. couple weeks later driving through town in normal traffic starts to over heat, i hit the highway cools way off. got back home and decided to get the timing right. got everything in line and back together and start it up. at first it sounds and runs better than ever after about 5 minutes it starts to stumble on its self and over heat the fan is running as it should. shut if off let it cool down start it back up and start checking for air leaks. nothing. start unplugging and swapping injectors, no changes. unplug sparkplug wire 2-4 engine dies. unplug cylinder 1 no changes. found my misfire. just to confirm i swapped wire 1 with wire 2. misfire moves to 2. but hook up a scanner and its throwing codes for being lean. multiple cylinder misfire. random misfire. misfire in cylinder 1 and 2. and its still over heating when idling
