2007 Honda CRV sputters

2007 Honda CRV LX all wheel drive sputters at speeds less than 50 mph but if I take my foot off the gas it stops sputtering and then I can proceed but repeats this often

how many miles are on the V?
Still have the original catalytic converter?
When was the last tune-up done? (AND timing belt change)
How long has this been going on?

And what do YOU mean by 'sputtering'?
Describe it better. Or do you mean A "missfire"?

Thanks for your inquiry and response - Going on since 50,000 miles - tune up did not impact , timing chain present versus belt I believe - gets worse when time for an oil change

Does sputtering come with a loss of power?
Could it be a stretched timing chain?
Don't know, just guessing

Yes the sputtering is associated with loss of power - auto has 160 thousand miles but this has been going on for approximately 110 thousand miles . Thank you for your response - I will have timing chain checked
