Long time since I've had to post; my little '82 just keeps on running so well I have not needed to do so.
However, I've got a simple question for which I have not been able to find an answer. Where are the plugs on the block to drain the coolant on my 1982 Prelude 1.8L engine? I found two bolts that enter the block between the oil filter and the oil pan rail that don't seem to serve any other purpose. Are these the drain plugs?
Right. So I was able to find the mysterious block coolant drain plug for my engine. It took buying an OEM service manual but I did find it.
The drain is between two freeze plugs below cylinders 1 and 2 (1 being at the end opposite the transmission). On mine with AC, it is under/behind the bracket for the AC compressor.
Note that there are also two more bolt/plugs under the oil filter. I was able to determine from exploded diagrams at estore.honda.com that these are for a remote oil cooler used on Civics.
