Default auto to standard

I have a 1997 Honda Accord i switched from automatic to standard. Was cranking over getting no spark. My timing belt broke but im wondering the reason i got no spark?

if the timing belt is broken the cam is not turning. if the cam is not turning, the distributor is not turning. distributor must turn for spark signal (to ECU) and timing (to each cylinder).

has it run at all since the auto-manual conversion?
