CEL Code 14 Fix
I recently did a d16y7 to y8 on my intake manifold swap on my '98 DX hb and no other mods other than short ram intake with air sensor and hose going into them. I burped the system and my engine temps are just fine doing this process for about 20+ mins. Went out for a quick drive and the idle was great. About 10 minutes in I get a CEL and idle consistently stays at 1500 rpm. Found my CEL was Code 14 dealing with IAC. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the IAC sensor, cleaned out the IAC valve with break cleaner, resetting the ECU, and unplugged the battery overnight. Did not touch the idle screw and have loosend the throttle cable. Drove to work this morning for 20 minutes and it has idled around 1000 rpms.
I read another post that said if you disconnect the IAC sensor while it's running if the idle drops then your IAC is fine and but if it doesn't drop then it's your IAC. My idle did not drop so safe to say I need to replace the IAC?
Going to try changing IAC sensors today and haven't tried looking for any leaks (just spray my hoses with carb cleaner or SeaFoam and look for hisses?).
Thank you all!
