Icon5 Post D16Y7 to Y8 Coolant Leaking

Hi guys sorry if this has been asked a hundred times.

I experienced no idle issues nor any CEL upon firing it up for 15 mins but the engine temperature shot all the way up when taking it around the block. Pulled up the hood to see evaporating white steam. I realized I should've burped the coolant following the swap but after pouring some into the radiator I can hear and see coolant leaking under the engine.

Did I use the wrong intake manifold gasket, connect the wrong hose somewhere or forgot to block something? I know with the engine turned off but with the heater blowing the temperature dropped to normal after a minute.

Did you look under the car and try and follow the wet pattern up to the source?

Yeah I got underneath and tried but couldn't find the source. Considering buying a UV light detection kit.

I'm wondering if the intake gasket doesn't match now that I examine the cutout and look back at where it fits on the head. All the hoses look fine and because the leak is so consistent as I pour into the radiator if it was huge hose tear I feel I would see it.

So I found the leak! The giant coolant line located under the fuel rail and first fuel injector. Couldn't find any tears on it. But looking back wondering if I stretched out the end too much when trying to remove it for the swap.

I think I'll try cutting off that end and re-connect then pour some more fluids to see if it keeps leaking.

So the fatter bypass hose under the first injector is where the leak was and my mechanic told me the valve/metal rod is probably damaged on the inside and it's pretty corroded on the outside.

To be fair I did get it from PnP and at least the intake manifold is cheap so I'll stop by to get another one sometime this week to swap.

Replacing the intake manifold took care of the coolant leak! Guess the previous valve really was damaged on the inside.

Misuse of pliers probably caused that.
