I have a CRX 88 DX, and it doesnt run because of blown head...i got about....600 dollars, i cant fix my car because im an idiot..should i replace the head? replace the engine? buy a new car?? labor prices are around 800-1200 dollars to replace the engine/head....and i cant do it. WHAT WOULD YOU DO...REMEMBER I ONLY HAVE 600 dollars.....im a **** face

 

I would buy a Chilten manual and a head gasket and fix the car. All you need are basic Walmart tools! If you can surf the web you can change a head gasket.

 

The head alone cost $400-500, then you will need a new gasket. I do have a head for an 89 Si with about 1000 miles on it. I'm not sure if they are the same part number because the DX is a 1.5l. if your inrterested let me know.

I dont know if i only need a gasket...because i have my coolent leaking into my cylinders....if thats the case i will get a new gasket...but what about if i need a whole head?

I'll send you an email, but you may want to make sure the Si head will work with the DX block, remember the Si is a 1.6 and the DX is a 1.5. Call you local parts store and ask them to cross reference the part numbers between these two heads.

 

SI head WILL work on a DX block, MPFI conversion, but if you dont want to do the wiring, you will have to use the DPFI manifold..
