Default What Should I Replace?

I have a 1990 Honda CRX HF with a B20 swap turbo. I'm wondering what pieces I should replace to make it handle like new. I get a lot of wander in the front end when I go over a bump. As of now everything but shocks and springs are original. My brakes also feel kind of spongy, I have an Integra brake swap. I tried adjusting the rear shoes but it didn't do much so I plan on new rear shoes and new wheel cylinders. What bushings/suspension pieces should I replace to make it feel tight again?

Check up on your tie rods.

For your spongy brakes, check for leaks in your lines. If there's no leaks it could be your master cylinder. Did you replace pads an rotors when you did the swap?

Inspect, and replace if necessary:

- Ball joints
- Tie rods
- Upper and lower control arms (mainly for the bushings)
- Rear trailing arm bushing
- Rear camber/toe arms
- Radius rods unless you already have a traction bar or plan on upgrading to one
- Steering rack
- Sway bar
- Get an alignment

That’s kind of the order I’m working through mine.

Brakes probably just need bled, or go ahead and put some fresh fluid in there.

+1 to everything 2x0 said, plus your strut bushings top and bottom if you didn't replace those. Those little bushings up top do weird things to handling when they're bad. I would start with the radius rod bushings though, sloppy caster is very bad for you.

Regarding brakes - you have rear drums, so you only did the integra swap up front? Has the master cylinder been upgraded? If you still have the 13/16 MC on bigger calipers that will make your pedal feel soft. The rears are probably not your problem unless the cylinders are leaking.

That is true. Also you should go ahead and do a rear disc swap as well. You have a turbo B20, you need to be able to slow down reliably

Personally I have the Legend 2 piston calipers up front on 10.3" discs, and rear discs from a CRX Si. They work very well.

I didn't replace the master, looking into that now thanks!
