Default HKS muffler install

I recently purchased a 2009 Honda Accord Euro and I want to install a HKS muffler but on a stock exhaust (cause it's cheaper and I really just want the sound). I know that the inlet size of the stock exhaust is 2.25" and the size of the HKS muffler inlet size is 2.5". I honestly have no clue how it'll fit together, if anyone has done this before please help me out. I'm also an absolute newbie to car mods and what not so please use stupid people terms with me. Thanks in advance )

cheaper than what?

the HKS I linked above. $250
Magnaflow 14445 also similar. $80
DC Sport EX-5017 similar in shape and appearance. $60
Walker/Thrush 24430 same or similar sound. add a chrome tip for the looks. $20 (muffler) +$15 (tip) =$30

expect a similar sound from any of these. take any of these options to a muffler shop to have welded on. $20-50 depending on your area.

I haven't bought the muffler yet cause I didn't want to waste money if I couldn't put the muffler together on the stock exhaust. And what I meant when I said "it'll be cheaper" is that it'll be cheaper than to buy a full aftermarket exhaust. Thank you so much for the links much appreciated!! Do you think there's any other alternatives to put the two together without welding?

agree completely

not really since you'll need some hangers (hooks) to be welded on anyway to hold the muffler in place and support the rest of the axle-back piping.

there are full band clamps like this that would work in certain situations, but in your case i don't think they would last or provide the right support. it will hold two lengths of pipe together and do a fair job of sealing the joint (though I highly recommend some exhaust sealing compound be used as well.) but without hangers or welding the muffler would eventually work its way loose and fall off. maybe the first bump, maybe a mile down the road... but it wouldn't take long.

Alright, yea it seems like welding the two together are my best bet. Thank you so much for answering my question
