How do you restart a 1996 honda accord inactivated by a kill switch?

 

Do you own this car? Was it running and stopped?

 

Turn the switch back on, turn the key and start. You do have the key, right?

 

I own the car. It is sitting in my driveway. I tried to open the passenger side door inadvertently when it was locked. I had assumed it was unlocked at the time. Now the cutoff switch has been activated, and I am unable to restart it. Yes, I have the key.

 

if you mean alarm than I suggest you get a replacement remote

 

or if you can find the 2 wires of the starter kill, connect them together. Likely, the alarm is underneath the dash, near the fuse box. That's where car audio shops usually put the alarm module. Yeah, very stealth huh?!

 

Or if you know how to push start with the horn blowing up in your ear you're good to go.

 

That doesn't work. I tried push starting my old 95 when the immobilizer was active. Needless to say I learned, if the battery dies, I have to get a jump even though it was a manual.

Now I know about the alarm relay and can bypass it but then I didn't. Talk about a whole lot of sweaty effort for naught.
