Header bolt siezed & comletely stripped

Default Header bolt siezed & comletely stripped


I am working on head gasket replace but got two bolts holding me back seized....

Should i cut the bolt off? top right one thats completely stripped?

YES. Threads are jacked up. You can either replace it with header studs or bolts afterwards.

ROFLCOPTER. How the hell did that happen? Yea sure, cut off remove header, try to remove the remaining bits but good luck wit dat.

This ***** a nightmare

i used socket extractors
dermel
heat

I think low quality bolt was used and/or frozen

Time to just cut off the bolt....

how?
By welding it?
Would it be okay with that bolt cut off?
Would it affect gasket

With the head off, you'd try to get the remaining part of the stud out and install a new one. If you're sending the head to a machine shop they can do that for you.

i am still having issues with the middle bolt. I am thinking of cutting it off too

cut them off and once the header is removed, you will have enough room get the damaged stud out
