Spark plug holes in valve cover are bent
So, I'm having a no-start issue with my 2000 civic DX. It tries to start, but won't catch. We did a compression test and 2 of the cylinders had low compression, so I was told this may be a timing issue. I did the timing belt and it didn't start, so I started from scratch and re-did it, but still the same result. When I pulled the valve cover off I noticed the metal where the spark plug holes are is warped. I was trying to replace the gaskets in each of the 4 spark plug holes, and they are bending in, a sort of rounded way so that I couldn't pull the gaskets out. I'm wondering if these being warped is a sign of a different issue. Does anybody know what this could mean? I tend to think this is an ominous sign, but any help is greatly appreciated!!
can you upload a few pics of what your talking about? If the sparkplugs go in and tighten up correctly then there shouldnt be an issue unless a couple valves were bent or the head gasket leaks.
if the cylinders low on compression are next to eachother, odds are you have a headgasket issue. time for a leakdown test.
