Default viscosity

Anyone know the viscosity/wieght of honda mtf. My dad is trying to decide if he wants to change to synthetic transmission fluid in the typeR. Has anyone used anything other than honda mtf, and if so, what brand?

Default Re: viscosity (92hb)

I just put Mobil 1 5w30 into the trans in my 93 integra and seems to be shifting fine with ~250 k on the original trans. My 85 CRX has either 5w30 or 10w40 dino oil in it and shifts well.

I also have several quarts of Redline MTL on the shelf but am debating using it since the visc rating is much higher than what Honda suggests in the manual. They suggest 5w30 to 10w40, etc.
