Spring rate setup opinion (square vs front biased)
Hi, I'm building a custom suspension setup for my Civic EG6. The car has stock sway bars and will be running reinforced rubber bushings all around. The ride height won't be too aggressive (2 finger gap) and the car will run on revalved Showa shocks and 195/55 R15 tyres. I've already decided on 350lb for the front, but as I'm getting into autocross and drag racing I've considered running a square 350F/350R setup. Ideally I would want a neutral handling car, with a slight bias to oversteer if any, but I don't know if that is a too aggressive setup for daily driving in poor roads and highway driving. The other possibility is to get 250-300lb springs for the rear. What would you more experienced guys recommend me? Any tips on the damping and rebound specs?
I run 380/380 on a 93 si EH3 and feel like it is pretty balanced, also have gsr front and rear sway bars which I believe the EG6 had the same or close stock, I haven't raced it, but plan on trying some autocross with it, also I run 205/50/15s
Back in my autocross days we always ran square setups or rear biased, never front biased.
However a square setup with a thicker rear sway bar to help reduce understeer was a fool proof setup imo.

Equal spring rates front and rear is rear biased, due to the front of the car being heavier. It's the suspension frequency that matters, not the spring rate, because it adds motion ratio and weight to the equation.
Thank you, I've read more about it and it makes total sense. The thing I'm having trouble finding is the wheel rate, so I can calculate the wheel frequencies to better compare it to something like a factory ITR setup which is a good balance between handling and confort. I did some rough calculations with what I've found and came with a 1.92Hz wheel rate with 300lb springs at the rear and 1.40Hz for the front with 350lb springs. It seems that the rear would be at the limit for confort on a daily driver, but would give me a good balance between oversteer and understeer (other factors like alignment, sway bar setups, tires and such unconsidered).
