2000 Civic EX Trouble Starting
Hey there Honda crew.
i have a 2000 Civic EX Automatic with 198k on it. The car is a basket case but didn't give me issues until now. It starts most of the time and sometimes it doesn't want to cooperate. The times it does start it runs rough and misfires and then smooths out after about a min.
Sometimes the car will just constantly crank and do nothing.
I hear the fuel fuel pump priming all the time when it's starting or not. I've replaced the coil thinking it was bad since the distributor had been replaced by the previous owner. Main relay has been replaced with aftermarket relay by previous owner.
The intake manifold on the car is a manual one instead of the auto version. And the iacv is hooked up weird. Which I think may explain my coolant loss and vacuum leak. Not entirely too sure. This car was hacked up. The cylinder head was also replaced by the previous owner.
Im thinking the head gasket job may have been half assed as well as the manual intake manifold may be causing these issues.
Right now i do also also have a cel for a knock sensor circuit but don't think that would cause any issues.
any of you Honda gurus may have any recommendations or things to check for this car?
