Default Rebuilt head, compression better but still majorly sputtering

Car was having major misfiring and sputtering at idle.

Compression tested my engine 170 74 165 174

Rebuilt head, compression now 195 200 194 200

Car is still sputtering/misfiring at idle, sounds like a V8 with big cams

I put brand new spark plugs in, still bad.

What do I check now? Compression is good. Fuel injector clogged maybe?

since you just replaced the head, check and verify mechanical timing.

Timing looked good, I just retarded the dizzy slightly just to see, no change, then advanced it, no more sputtering. So I guess the timing was slightly off after all.

Lots of blue smoke coming out the exhaust once it gets warm, hoping it's just oil and gunk burning off since compression was good. Gonna wait till night and run it so I don't smoke the neighborhood out

Actually it is good at idle now, but once I hit the gas it starts misfiring and lurching once it drops back to idle

I think I figured it out, took the intake apart again and noticed I missed the icv connector, weird it wasn't giving me an engine code. I plugged it in and put everything back together, idling very smooth now! Still a lot of blue smoke once it heats up, hopefully just gunk and crap to burn off. Gonna drive it tonight once it's dark and see if it burns off.

Make sure you properly set your ignition timing with a light, and not just by randomly rotating it.
