You will need the full swap, ie: tranny, engine, axles, intermediate shafts, an LS ecu, starter, probably a different radiator, all hoses related to that, shift linkage, umm... I think that's it. If you plan on going turbo, keep the LS tranny. It has longer gears and lets you stay in boost longer than say a GSR or B16 tranny. If I've left anything out, will someone please correct me?
You dont need to upgrade your radiator right away. It would probably be a good idea once you put the turbo on though.
I ran a stock cx radiator w/ my ls motor for 2 years, one year with nitrous, and I didnt have any problems.
Also dont forget the LS engine wiring harness and an LS throttle cable.
Good luck w/ your swap.

Slopoke: Or anyone how hard is it to hook up the wiring harness? Is it pretty direct swap or do you have to do a lot of splicing and stuff like that.
Once again thanks for the info.

The LS harness will plug directly into your civic main harness.
If you look under your hood, you will see three electrical connectors mounted to the passanger side shock tower. There are also a few behind your driverside shock tower.
This is where your "engine" harness connects to your "main" or "interior" harness.
All you need to do is disconnect those conncetors (three on the passanger side and two on the driver side) then pull the civic motor out with the engine harness still attached.
Then drop the LS motor down in (also with the harness attached) and then plug it in exactly the same way the civic harness was.
Its that easy.
The ecu also plugs directly in.
It doesnt get any easier than an LS swap into a 5th gen.
No wiring needed. A true plug and play swap.

i recomend a vtec tranny for turbo...the LS's suck, why wait around forever, if your into topspeed freeway runs, then LS, if your looking to drag, go with a vtec b16 or gsr works great!!
also talk to guys in forced induction forum, the like the vtec trannys also!!!

I had a gsr tranny on my ls motor.
The only thing I disliked about it was 4th gear topped out at around 100mph.
So if you are going to drag race and you plan on trapping above 100mph, you will be shifting into 5th gear.

ALL GOOD INFO! BELIEVE HIM ON THE THROTTLE CABLE. Though, instead of running an LS Throttle cable, you can get a bracket from JDMshit.com for about $8 that will make the EG hatch cable the correct length to mount to the TB (Eg cable will be a few inches too long for the LS engine TB, the bracket basically spaces it )

yeah, LS tranny is really long, but many people suggest them for turbo. GSR all the way, or 1999-2000 Civic Si 4.4 FD
the ITR tranny is pretty much used for N/A, it's damn short.

Any 94-01 Integra B18B1 swap will be fine. Although the 96-01 models are OBD2/OBD2B, it can still be plug and play in the EG chassis. You would just simply use a 94-95 OBD1 P74 or P75 ECU instead of the OBD2/OBD2B ECU that comes with the swap.

I would also have to agree with this. The GSR tranny is the bets of both worlds, not too short, not too long.

I am about to do the same swap. I have a 96 B18b thats going into a 94 civic. Can the car be CA bar cerified with a 94-95 ECU instead of the ECU that comes with the motor? IF not what will I need to do to get the swap working with the 96 ECU. Thanks
