New Accord V6 manual
With the Accord V6 now getting a manual tranny. How would it size up against the s2000. Both have 240 but the accord has torque but more weight. Just wondering if anyone had some insight.

Just drove my uncle's new s2k..

Power to weight ratio is a good indication of how quickly a car can accelerate. It doesn't tell the entire story - it doesn't account for differences in tires, for example (and I would bet that the S2000 comes with stickier tires than the Accord Coupe) - but it tells a lot of it. The '03 Accord Coupe has 240 horsepower, and so does the S2000. The S2000 weighs 2809 pounds. The '03 Accord Coupe weighs 3265 pounds. Guess which one is going to accelerate faster?

Torque and horsepower both matter, but in different ways. The S2000 may have less torque, but it has a gearing advantage over the Accord (and many other cars) in that it can keep its torque right up to its 9000 RPM redline. Thus it can have shorter gearing than other cars. Shorter gearing can make up for less torque at the crank, so that its torque at the wheels (which is what makes acceleration) is just as high. Horsepower is a reflection of the ability to use shorter gearing and higher revs. If you don't understand how this all fits together, check out this write-up.
prelude sh has 200hp........my R has 195 hp........an SH can't even touch me.......many variables my friends
