1989 Acura d16a1 my trans is slowly going out. Was 5th now it's 4th now only have 1st threw 3rd lol that's not a problem I'm.proud of the motor for lasting so she's still turning up I'll get her a new transmission. My question here is can someone tell me a trans that's is interchangeable with this cable trans from my 89 dohc d16a1. Or if their is one if not I'll get another like this. Thanks an I do appreciate the time if someone reads this. Trying to keep the oldy on the road!
you need to stay with the 86-89 Integra CG transmission - the mounts are completely different from any other D-series transmission - the 86-89 Integra uses equal length axles with intermediate shaft - the intermediate shaft won't fit any other D-series transmission due to the larger splined end at the differential - the Integra CG transmission has a larger diameter input shaft due to no pilot bushing in the flywheel - to use any other D-series transmission, you would also need to use a different flywheel and clutch
