Default 2018 CRV EX vs LX vs RAM4 performance

I apologize if I’m not doing this right, but my wife and I are a bit flummoxed and thought I’d take a shot here.
So we just got back from test driving a RAV4 along with a CRV EX and a CRV LX. We both thought that the EX drove better, but can’t figure out why technically it drove better. The steering wheel felt tighter in all aspects and the car more responsive. We felt there was a significant difference between driving the ex vs the lx (the lx felt looser like the rav4). Is this in my head or is there some specific difference between the trim specifications that make for a better drive? Appreciate any help. Thanks!

You can go to Honda's website and compare the model trim level features. You will find the EX has a turbo engine, 18 inch wheels, few more safety features etc. that the LX lacks.

Although the website comparison doesn't specify the type of tires between the two trims, tires can dramatically change how a car handles. It is also possible the EX has better performing tires to go with the larger wheels.
