Drop springs didn't drop lol
91 HF...just installed low mileage struts with 2" drop springs for cheap reasons, purely for looks. Not a track car by any means lol. Problem is that it didn't even lower the car by any noticable difference. I've driven it a couple times today (just finished it last night) and don't want to keep driving it too much before I do an alignment but I've never had a car do this before. I've done suspension work, worked at an actual alignment/suspension specialist shop and never saw it before. Any suggestions? I doubt it would settle much more, and more than likely won't give me the drop I wanted. Cheap eBay springs btw
can you be more specific with the shock and springs you used.
can you provide a picture?
did you preload the suspension before tightening the control arm bolts?
did you reuse the dust covers?
how does it ride?

Rides good, I had to preload the suspension some to get everything lined up properly. The shocks are oe low mileage units I got for free locally from a friend. Springs are the no name eBay 2" drop springs. I'll see if I can snap a photo. I also installed EMU rear lower control arms since mine were shot, bushings were gone.
I'll have to get the car up on a jack later to get a photo, I've just never had this happen before, lowered plenty of cars before but not Hondas.
They were stock springs. Looked clapped out. Yes, I reused the dust covers. Just remembered I did. So, loosen the control arm bolts, jack the suspension to preload it to a compressed state then retighten it? Dust covers couldn't be stopping it could they? I suppose my old springs could've been so clapped that it was already lowered lol
if youre not complaining of a horrible ride, then youre not riding on your dust boots which happens with sleeve over adjustable springs, i know you said you didnt use that kind, but just asking.
a picture of your ride would tell me if it was/is really at OE ride height. its much higher than ppl think.

thanks for pics.
yeah, i guess the "ebay springs" you got werent much for lowering, like you said. perhaps the HF chassis is just at the way lower end of the static weight it is supposed to hold up for generic springs.
im out of ideas. lol.
i would retighten each suspension bolt anyway.

Guess tonight I'll do that, jack it up, loosen it all, compress and retighten...if that doesn't work...I do have an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel hahahaha.
