Ok, when I start the car, and its cold, I get the bumpy bumpy idle, the idle jsut keeps jumping, so I figured unplug the IAC, well when I do that, car stalls, so I unbolted the IAC, still get the whack idle, but then I plug the 2 holes with my fingers, and the idle is fine, what could that be?? Also I am throwing a code CEL 14 (IAC), any one have any suggestions??? This is a 98 d16y8 into a 95 CX, Im stumped, please help.

Sounds like the IAC is bad. Do you have access to another one so you can compare?
The reason it smoothed out when you put your fingers over the holes is because it was having a huge vacuum leak with nothing covering them.
