EJ/EK Suspension Differences
Hi Folks,
I have a '99 EJ9 (3dr). I bought with 15" VTi wheels from the previous owner. At the Honda shop they said, 15" needs EK suspension. So I changed them to 14" wheels. And indeed it feels more comfortable while steering. Is there any main difference between EJ9 and EK4 suspension?
Thank you!

no, doesnt seem to make sense wheels and suspension (shock and springs) being dependent.
if your car fit a 14" wheel, it can fit a 15" wheel, all other things within reason.
ek4 is a SiR/VTi? what was special about those, suspension wise.

You don't need EK suspension.
Try putting 17'' wheel, and go back at 15'', you'll see difference, just like going 14'' from 15''.
The thing is the more tire you have, it will be more comfortable in theory, but sometimes in practice too. I mean, 195/60 would be a little more comfortable than 195/45.
Btw, VTi ( EK4 ) has 1cm shorter piston in their suspension. So there is difference in suspensions, but it's not that big and important.
Sorry for lousy english.
