Default Egr insufficient flow

So i have the 2002 Accord Coupe Ex 6cyl 3.0L
I had a CEL come on checked code, it ended up P0401 Egr insufficient flow. I took intake manifold off, and egr and cleaned ports very well replaced gaskets and reassembled. 35 miles later TCS and CEL light come on. Stopped by tye store and turned engine off TCS was not on after restarting but came back on after a fast acceleration and the hard stop. Did i miss something when i cleaned out the manifold and the valve/ports?? I dont think this is a very major think and am not afraid to drive...this car runs like a dream aside from the tansmission is needing replaced as it gets up to about 6grand sometimes going from 1st to 2nd...and 283k...its been very well maintained. Any ideas out there?

Did the EGR valve itself move smoothly? I had one on a 3.5 that felt a bit crunchy, exercised it a bit and blasted the shaft with some WD40. It was not silky smooth but it was considerably better. I would think it would cause the insufficient lift code if it was sticking, but the Honda ECU/PCMs are not the quickest of cats on self diagnostics.

Did you check that the individual ports to the intake runners were cleared or did you just clean the main feed?

Mad Mike: i cleaned the egr valve itself...including the bottom where the plunger is...the port it sits directly above... the port on the block and the port in intersects with on the manifold. Now, i cannot see in there so i cannot tell how clean i got it, but as much cleaner as i blew in there and made sure to blow everything out, i am confident it os pretty clean as all the cleaner came out pretty clear. I talked to a mechanic i know and he mentioned it could be the ecu...but he recommended if i can afford it to just pick up a new valve. So i have a new one on the way...if that doesn't clear the issue, then what do you suppose is the next avenue?

I am replacing the valve, but will reclean all other ports when i do that tomorrow. Is there a possibility there is a vacuum issue....any vacuum lines i should check?

not really, you would get a "no lift" code

it just seems like something is still gunked up

check the exhaust port in the head for blockage

Ended up doing a vey deep cleaning on all parts involved....manifold i put in parts washer at work and got inside and out super clean and spent about an hour cleaning the ones on the block, and put the new egr valve in...so far its all good.
