Tire Light Keeps Coming On 14 CRV
Hi-
I have a 2014 Honda CRV with 34k
So last week I got a flat tire at 8PM at night. Jacked up the car and couldn't get the tire off. So I had someone run me home and I brought my compressor put air in and it was holding enough to get home.
Next day was a Sunday so I couldn't call honda my wife needed it for work the next day (forgot I have honda's extended warranty with roadside) Brought the CRV to the only place open on a Sunday around here Firestone. Sidewall had a hole couldn't be patched. They couldn't put the matching tire on (Continental) had to be their brand. So $150 later everything was fine. Next day my wife was driving the vehicle from work light went on for low tire pressure. All looked good. I checked pressure when I came home everything was fine and I took reset the monitoring system and took it for a ride. All was good. 2 days later light came back on. Figured it is going back to fire stone (never had an issue with it before coming on until this flat).
Now the interesting part:
Lady calls me from firestone arguing with me where ever i bought my car they took off the tire pressure sensors. She said I need to buy 4 sensors. I went off because I already told her .1 it was bought from a honda dealership 2. they don't have the traditional monitoring system. She then said she needed to talk to the manager. She calls me back an hour later said good news they found the issue. They just had to push 1 button inside and it is off the dash!!! ?@!@?!?!?? I explained it all again that we did that several times. Calls back an hour later installer did everything he was suppose to. If it comes back on has to go to the dealership and I owe $75. ?!?!?!
Anyways now....
What can it be that it comes on every other day after this? Of course if it comes back on its going to the dealership and if it is something they did with the install of the tire they will be paying.

TPMS is a bit of a pain. Mine seems to come on occasionally, goes off, no reason I can cipher. I had this issue before and after repair (including sensor) of 1 tire. I plan on putting 4 new ones in when I need tires. In the mean time I just keep an eye on the actual pressure.
Firestone worked you over pretty good, criminal, guessing you'll find a good independent tire place in future.

On his 2014 CR-V, if only one tire was changed and that tire's characteristics was significantly different compared to the other tire(s) when driving, the system may interpret it as an issue.
it uses the existing VSA wheel speed sensors to monitor and compare tire characteristics while driving.
