Default Repair or Replace? Front Bumper Skin

My EG hatch got hit (see my build thread) a while ago.

Wondering if the original front bumper cover is worth fixing, or if I should replace with aftermarket?

Here is damage to the original:

Can this damage be fixed? Is it worth it?

I am a big fan of OEM, but not sure if that damage can be fixed? Or should it be fixed?

I found this aftermarket piece for $146: https://www.autopartswarehouse.com/s...L/R-1367P.html

What would you do if you were me?

Its repairable, just time, some 3m products, sanding and priming and paint.

Hmm... If it has been repaired once, I am more inclined to replace.

I would say check salvage yards for another OEM. My experience has shown some subtle differences in the after market skins and I think OEM just works a little bit better as well as the paint seems to stay put better.

Okay, I know what you mean. Do you think this one can be repaired?

replace with Genuine part from the salvage yard. Fitment will be 1000x better than aftermarket

OEM def works better and is built differently. Looks the same from the outside but its not.

Thanks. So far what I have seen in the yards is not good. 2-door coupe bumper skin will fit as well, yes?

Coupe and hatchback are the same skin but slightly different paint design usually. 4 door is smaller and different. At least that's the the way it is on the 5th gens (92-95). Pretty confident it's the same on the 6th gens.

As for repair, I'm no expert, I don't even know the proper glues that vulcanize the plastic of the bumper skin. I sometimes wish I did. Sorry.

I just replaced a rear bumper on my Civic with aftermarket and it fits perfect, $49 bucks, scuff and paint and looks great. No need to track one down no need to scuff old crap paint off which is the easiest way.

As someone that works for a collision shop, that is not a viable candidate for repair. Find another used OEM cover. Coupe/hatch are the same. Aftermarket normally doesn't fir especially well.

CertiFit SUCKS. If you plan to flip the car, go for it. If it's your personal car you intend to keep, get a Genuine Honda bumper cover.
