2013 Civic LX Automatic - vibration at Low Idle when at a Traffic Light. Seems to get better when A/C is turned on i.e. putting a little bit of load on the engine. Also, gets better when it is in Neutral (idle speed rises slightly and vibration disappears).

Several years ago, it would sound like engine is about to die and I changed the battery and problem went away.

It is my daughter's (college) car so low miles. Most trips are very short, probably not best scenario for allowing alternator to keep battery charged.

have altenator checked.
clean grounds.
change spark plugs

 

Car should be under warranty. Contact Honda dealer. Cars need basic maintenance mainly

 

short trips are killer on cars. she needs to run the car up to operating temperature more often and get the fluids flowing. the battery won't get a proper charge if the car its left alone for long periods and then run on short hops.

 

Thanks for the tips. The 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty expired 2 yrs ago even though the car only has 25,000 miles on it. Based on previous Honda experience where I changed spark plugs at > 100,000 miles, I am sure the Iridium plugs will look like new with good gap. I'd rather not disturb them at 25k mi.

I will check out electrical connections and also see if alternator is putting out enough juice. Also, makes sense to take longer trips to keep battery at full charge.
