i have a 2004 civic si ep3 with 90k on it and the throttle recently started getting suck open causing me to to rev out of control. i pulled apart and cleaned my throttle body really thoroughly but its still happening and i have no idea what to do.

 

Replace the throttle body and throttle cable with NEW factory ones. What other changes have you done to the engine ???

 

I personally would remove the throttle body and manipulate the throttle by hand. If you feel sticky spots anywhere you know its an issue with the throttle body and can go from there. Otherwise it could be the throttle cable or the throttle pedal. Find where the binding is actually happening. One time, I was working on my buddies CRX and we forgot to tighten the throttle body bolts back down so when we drove it and pressed the gas just right it would rev out of control due to the unwelcome air making its way into the intake.
